The Third Round Announcement
1. Symposium program
The preliminary symposium program has already been available on the conference website. Please check the information of your paper and the schedule of your presentation or poster. Contact the symposium secretary by email
before Sep.7thif you have any questions.
2. Hotel reservation
The symposium will be held from Sep 24thto Sep 27that Beijing Friendship Hotel, which locates in the Zhong Guan Cun South Street, Haidian district, Beijing. Registration will begin from Sep. 23thin the front of Meeting Hall in Beijing Friendship Hotel.
Please make the hotel reservation by yourself as soon as possible, because of the possible shortage of the hotel rooms since lots of meetings will be held right after the Beijing Olympics. Please contact the symposium secretary if you have trouble in booking.
Several hotels are suggested here for your selection. They are near to the Beijing Friendship Hotel and easy to travel to the symposium venue. The locations and contact information of the hotels are listed in Table 1, and the travel routes are shown in Fig 1. (Full map of Beijing: digital map siteor Beijing map site)

3. Climate during the symposium
The weather of late September in Beijing is cool and comfortable. The highest temperature is no more than 27°C and the lowest one is no less than 13°C. However, affected by the global warming, there might be temperature higher than 30°C. It is usually cool in the morning and evening, warm at other daytime. A shirt will be good in daytime. You can also bring a jacket or a sweater in case of a sudden cold weather.
4. Presentation time
Plenary Lectures: 50 min. (40min. presentation, 10 min. discussion)
Recommend to use your own laptop for your presentation. We will provide a spare laptop at each meeting room for the presenters who have not taken their own computers.
5. Poster session
Poster session is arranged at 14:30-17:30, on September 25th. Please put up your poster during 10:30-14:00, on September 25th at the Ball Room of Building No.1 in Beijing Friendship Hotel. The size of each poster board is 100cm in width, 200cm in height. Please refer to the poster board size to prepare your poster presentation. Please stay with your poster for introduction and discussions during the poster session time.
6. Registration
Please register as soon as possible by the internet or other methods before the symposium if you have not done so.
7. About publications
1. The 2-page extended abstracts submitted to the symposium will be collected in a CD-rom proceedings.
2. According to the option of authors, full length papers of the symposium will be recommended to submit to either the symposium proceedings (to be published by the Springer Corp.) or one of the following five academic journals. Considering the copyright issue, each full paper can only choose one of them.
The Scientific Committee of the symposium is responsible to the review process for the full papers to be submitted to the symposium proceedings. The accepted full papers after peer review will be included in the symposium proceedings, which will be published by the Springer Corp. Please refer to the attachment file for the format.
For the full papers to be submitted to the journals, a regular review process is required according to the publication policy of each individual journal. You can find the guidelines in the attachment files for preparation of your paper to be submitted to the above 5 journals .

Important note:All the full papers should be submitted to the coference organization committee. The papers will be systematically submitted by the conference organization committee to the journals selected by the authors. If a full length paper submitted to a journal is rejected, it can still be submitted to the symposium proceedings before Dec. 31, 2008, if the author decides to do so. After the date, it is not acceptable.
Please submit your full paper through the conference website http://www.cist.org.cn/, before September 27th, 2008. The submission of full paper has already been opened on the conference website.(login and enter the Abstract List menu). The format for the full length paper has already been added to the main menu on the first page of the symposium website. Please note that if you do not register to the symposium, your full paper would not be accepted in the symposium proceedings.
